About our speaker ... Qula Madkin, MS, RD, CDE ... Qula Madkin currently holds the position of Health Management Consultant with Cobbs, Allen & Hall a consultative risk management firm headquartered in Central Alabama. In this role Qula works to develop, implement and sustain health management programs for our clients.
Qula is a board certified registered dietitian (RD) and diabetes educator (CDE). In addition, she is a wellness coach, speaker and consultant. She has served as a nutrition & dietetics preceptor for UAB, lead dietitian to the Lipid & Metabolism Institute of North East Mississippi, Administrative Dietitian for Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and as an educator and consultant for other institutions. Qula was named a “Trendsetter” by the Huntsville Times in 2006.
Qula earned her B.S. in Food Nutrition and Dietetics and her M.S. in Nutrition and Health from Mississippi State University. Currently she serves as the Alabama Dietetic Association representative for women’s health and co-chair of the Projects & Planning Committee of the Alabama Department of Public Health, Office of Women’s Health Committee. She is a member of both the Alabama and American Dietetic Association. Qula consults with other organizations some of which include working as an educator for the UAB School of Nursing and the Signal Caller Foundation.
Qula speaks to professional and community associations and groups as well as media outlets.
